Accent Music
Education Hub
Accent Music Education Hub is a partnership led by Warrington Borough Council. It serves the local authority areas of Warrington and Halton with a total school population of 56,232 and serves some of the most deprived wards in the country.
Organisation Bio
The Hub Lead Organisation is Warrington Borough Council. The Hub is overseen by the Strategic Board, which is made up of partners and local stakeholders and is chaired by an independent chair. Accent Music Education Hub was formed in 2012 and is a partnered Hub between Warrington and Halton Borough Councils. Accent works with 19 partners to deliver programmes of musical support which lead to progressive learning pathways and relevant musical experiences linked to the Model Music Curriculum. We focus upon the development of an inclusive offer which combines Music and cultural education and an awareness of local heritage.
Accent has enjoyed developing our collaboration with Resonate Music Hub since September 2020, which has enabled us to continue fulfilling the core roles as laid out in the National Plan for Music Education and to provide effective music education activity to children and young people in Warrington and Halton. We are a member of the Merseyside Music Education Hub Alliance, and deliver the Digital Strand, funded through the City Region Partnership, for secondary schools across the region.
From September 2024, Warrington and Halton will become a member of the Merseyside, Halton and Warrington Music Hub.
