LOOSE

LOOSE started out in 1997 as a music collective, a group for those seeking opportunities to gig, record and develop as musicians. After developing many projects, events and sessions in partnership with the Arts Development Officer Roy Jones, LOOSE become the owners of The Studio, an annexe venue to The Queens Hall.

Organisation Bio

In 2010 after extensive restoration and multiple funding bids, the venue opened with a five-year youth music project ‘Access All Areas’ funded by The Big Lottery.

Currently we are in the final year of a three-year funded project from Reaching Communities. Providing an arts activity programme for all and continuing to remove all barriers to the arts and culture for the people of Halton. There are ongoing FREE or low-cost creative activities & events all created in partnership with our Studio associates and community catch up members; included literacy, audio recording, film-making, exhibitions, band rehearsals, and live music & theatre performance.

During 2020 many activities and events have moved online and new opportunities have arisen. With Covid-19 specific funding we have enabled people to access the internet, provided arts and food packs over summer and mentors and tutored people from 11-60years on music development and productions.

The Studio is also home to:

  • Daycare Samba Band,
  • Freshstart (Health Improvement Team)
  • ACE Clubnight (Active Communities Enterprise)
  • SPARC (Supporting People Achieving Real Choice)
  • Cronton College Music BTEC.
  • Fortuna Female Society

LOOSE runs The Studio and has a committee of 5 voluntary directors.

Studio Staff: Project Manager: Louise Nulty, Head of Music & Film: Stephen Cole, Studio Assistants: James Swift and Meg DeMar and Hospitality Assistant Josh McNorton.
